Abstract
With the constant technological, social and cultural changes facing the design industry, there is a pressure on design courses to maintain an agile focus on teaching the most relevant skills. It is the student that is faced with the choice of specialisation and of which skills to concentrate on during their limited study time in order to ensure a successful career in the future. But what skills do students and faculty perceive to have the highest value? And how do those compare to the skills valued in the industry?
